Shouldn't we hang the rapist?

Anish Soni was a normal 18 year old boy studying in class 12. He was passionate about life, had many aspirations. Anish had many friends but Navya was special. Anish and Navya were good friends in a long distance relationship, they used to share everything. Navya was quite rich and was only sister among three brothers and was protected by them. She was very close to Anish which was not liked by Navya’s brothers. Anish and Navya used to be connected all the time.

One day Navya was upset about her poor performance in exams, she called Anish and discussed about it. Anish consoled her and asked her to study hard next time. She was texting him and he was replying . Navya’s elder brother saw her busy on the phone and snatched her phone. He saw messages of Anish, he got very furious on both and he slapped Navya. Other brothers came in after listening the noise. Everyone scolded Navya for talking to Anish. They warned her if she did not stop talking to Anish they will take action against her and Anish. Navya got annoyed by this. She thought of leaving home.

She did not tell anyone not even Anish, packed her bag and went to Anish’s place. She knocked the door, Anish opened it and was surprised to find Navya at his place. He saw a bag with her and got worried, he asked, “what is this Navya, why have you come with baggage.” “I left my home.” Navya said .

“Why?” Anish was shocked, “Its very suffocating there, everyone is after me for talking to you, lets get married and live together .”

“Are you nuts Navya we are only 17 this is not possible I am a student, how can I marry you, misunderstanding arises in every family don’t do this go back.” Anish was scared and worried. Navya was not listening, she was adamant on her decision, Anish was trying to convince her that whatever she is thinking is wrong. Finally after a heated argument Navya agreed to go back to her place.

Anish dropped Navya to the bus stop and promised her that he will take care of her always but not like this. Navya boarded the bus but did not go back to her place . She was free to go anywhere and there was nobody to stop her. She was exploring the city.

Meanwhile, when Navya’s parents and brothers did not find her at home they lodged a police complain against Anish of kidnapping and rape. Anish was arrested immediately. After two days police could find Navya, there was sign of sexual intercourse too. Only Navya could tell whether it was rape or not. Navya was pressurized by family to say it was Rape by Anish.

Anish was already in police custody and Navya gave a statement that she was raped by Anish. Anish was sent to Tihar. Anish’s parents were shattered, they knew their son was innocent. However, after medical examination it was found out that the “SEMEN”on the panty of Navya was not of Anish . Anish’s parents were very happy as there was a ray of hope for bail. After 9 months in Tihar finally they thought their son will be free and will start his life again. They lost the dignity, the prestige in society but now as medical examination proved Anish's innocence they were happy and thankful to God. Little did they knew what was going on in the other part of the nation.

India was burning with the incident of rape on 16 December 2012. There were protests everywhere, Delhi was declared the RAPE CAPITAL. Only one crime was reported all over INDIA. “Hang the Rapist” was the slogan of every person, people wanted the harshest of punishment for rapist. All the people of India became blind with the feminist propaganda. This negativity effected Anish’s case and instead of getting bail he was CONVICTED for seven years in Rape . His mother fainted in the courtroom .

One more life was ruined  by “Hang the rapist” slogan .
